NBPA grants Evans comeback after a three-year ban
The National Basketball Players Association has approved Tyreke Evans’ request to be reinstated as an active participant after the player served a three-year ban for testing positive for a prohibited substance.
Having played his last game in 2019, for the Indiana Pacers, the 32-year-old is now an unrestricted free agent and is able to begin negotiations with any interested party.
Evans was banned for violations of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Policy in 2019, and became eligible to apply for reinstatement this year.

Evans staying in shape
Since being banned, Evans has been active on social media, regularly posting videos for fans of himself training alone, as he bids to rediscover the kind of form that saw the player explode onto the NBA scene during his early years at the Sacramento Kings.
Having been named Rookie of the Year in 2010, when he became the only player to average 20 points, five rebounds and five assists for each game and joining the likes of Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Oscar Robertson, big things were expected from him.
He went on to feature for the New Orleans Pelicans and the Memphis Grizzlies, with a spell back at the Kings sandwiched in between before joining the Pacers.
Evans will be keen to get back to concentrating on his game and, free to find a club of his own accord, it may not come as a surprise to see him back at the Kings to finish out his career.
Lakers on the cards?
There are reports that Evans could forge a sensational union with LeBron James at the LA Lakers and such a move would certainly help to revive their season, with the side currently ninth in the Western Conference.
Should this materialise and the two veterans make music on the court, then it could certainly see the Lakers striking the right notes for the rest of the season, with the playoffs definitely not out of the question.
