FanDuel onboards new Managing Director
Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel Group has appointed Asaf Noifeld as Managing Director to lead its next big growth phase.
This new role is expected to solely cover the expansion of the brand’s online casino, as it continues its push to be the lead operator in the US.
Over the last two years, FanDuel has propelled itself into the top echelon of online sportsbook and casino operators in several states across the US and there is much hope that it can continue to post impressive figures.
Encouraging sign of the firm’s ambition
With the installation of Noifeld into a c-level role, it will help to realign the firm’s aspirations to focus more on developing and improving its online casino offering, with the brand first and foremost being a sportsbook, having started as a fantasy sports operator.
President and Chief Executive Officer of the FanDuel Group, Amy Howe revealed: “Asaf brings deep experience building online casino businesses across the globe.
“I am delighted to add him to our leadership team, as he has extensive knowledge in the space which will help grow our online casino business in North America.”
For Noifeld, it wasn’t too much of a leap, having joined from fellow Flutter Entertainment company PokerStars where he was at for eight years, helping to grow the brand into what it is today, while he previously was in the employ of 888 across a variety of different roles.
Key year ahead for FanDuel
With even more competitors in the key states that it is targeting, this is an important year for the brand to retain as much share of the US online gambling market as it can. Last year saw BetMGM and even Australian firm PointsBet show promising signs that there will be a big challenge from them, while DraftKings remain just as ambitious.
Noifeld will have a big task on his hands, running casino operations from the firm’s New York headquarters – incidentally a state that FanDuel has targeted as one that could potentially give it an edge in the US.
This appointment could even be followed by more arrivals as the operator looks to expand aggressively, which could see a lot more attention focused on its online casino.
For now though, Noifeld will need to hit the ground running if FanDuel is to keep competing at the top of its game and no doubt, he will have his own ideas about how he can improve the brand’s online casino offering.
