Lemar Jackson readying for Ravens return
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lemar Jackson could be set for a comeback soon, as we head into the business end of the NFL season. With the Ravens currently on a three-game losing streak, they still have a glimmer of hope of making the playoffs, currently second in the AFC North.
With crucial games coming up over the next few weeks, Jackson’s return could well be pivotal to the team’s chances as the Steelers and Browns close in. They are a side that is ravaged by injuries and Jackson’s return can help them to rediscover their earlier form.
His coach, Jim Harbaugh cut a particularly cautious figure when speaking about the player’s chances of returning, despite sounding seemingly optimistic.
“We’ll see how the ankle responds. It is getting better,” the coach said.
“It’s a good question but it’s hard to answer because there’s no definitive formula,” Harbaugh revealed when asked about the player’s health.
“We’re going to have to see where we’re at with all factors. You take everything into account and see what you feel best about going forward. Practice time, health wise, all those things. That’s really all you can do.”
Chiefs and Rams await
Should Jackson return, it will be a tough ask for him to turn around his team’s fortunes, with games against one of the favourites; Kansas City Chiefs, who are in top form, aided by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Meanwhile, they also face the Los Angeles Rams, who have been excellent recently, winning their last two games.
Although the Ravens may have struggled without Jackson, stand in quarterback Tyler Huntler has exceeded expectations and put in a fine performance in the side’s 31-30 narrow loss against the Green Bay Packers.
He has shown that he is more than capable of filling Jackson’s shoes, however, fans will be watching the situation with interest.
