“Personal Decision” for Mahomes

Speaking candidly about this choice to get his booster jab at a time when several players in the NFL have come under scrutiny for their decisions, Mahomes revealed: “To me, it was more of a personal decision, with having a baby girl and knowing that I was going to be around people.

“I wanted to make sure I could do whatever I could to help keep her healthy.”

“I mean, whatever you believe, I think you can do whatever that is,” he said, “and we’ll figure out the best way to keep each other healthy by social distancing and doing whatever it is, whenever we can in this building.”

“I’ve had to learn a lot there,” Mahomes continued, “probably more than I’ve learned in my entire life until now, of how to raise a little baby girl and try to give her the best opportunity and the best life possible.”

Busy festive period for Chiefs

With games against the Steelers, Bengals and Broncos all within a couple of weeks of each other, these will clearly be crucial for the Chiefs if they are to make sure that they are in a good position by mid-January; an opportunity to wrestle back the Super Bowl in February no doubt at top of their mind.

Mahomes understandably will be key during this run and the fact that he has had his Covid-19 booster is a major plus for the Chiefs at a time when a number of players in the competition are catching the virus.
